JL-20T Introduction | ||||||||
JL-20T Industrial Networking Genie adopts an industrial grade design, providing remote data collection, transmission, and maintenance functions for industrial products such as controllers, collectors, industry data terminals, PLCs, and HMIs with serial ports.
JL-20T Industrial Networking Genie is embedded with an industrial grade 4G LTE communication module, with one RS232 and one RS485 serial port each. It adopts terminal wiring, RS232 and RS485 can be used at the same time. It has a TYPE-C USB port to upgrade firmware, configure parameters and check debug log.
JL-20T supports connecting to at most three data centers at the same time. It supports connecting to mServer and transparent TCP/UDP server. It also has built in NTRIP protocol as a communication device for high-precision positioning transmission, and connects to NTRIP Caster to achieve high-precision positioning function.
JL-20T has built-in MODBUS RTU communication protocol and can communicate with industrial cloud platforms through standard MQTT protocol.
There are three sub-models with different protocols support.
Relying on ETUNG's E-Cloud Device Management Cloud Platform, JL-20T Industrial Networking Genie automatically obtains cloud device management capabilities, including device online and offline records, current online status, remote configuration, remote upgrade, remote debugging, etc.

Below is the working mechanism of JL-20T MPRO. JL-20T MPRO has RS232 and RS485 serial interface, RS485 is used to connect to user’s device, and RS232 is used to configure variables for data transmission and local data monitoring.
First, JL-20T MPRO connects with PLC or HMI via RS485 serial cable and connects with PC via RS232 serial cable. Then, configure JL-20T MPRO with iGateCfg configuration software, and upload the configuration to IoT cloud platform.
JL-20T MPRO connects into the Internet via 4G wireless network, and then establishes connection to IoT cloud platform. JL-20T MPRO sends commands to devices and collects data in pre-defined time periods, and then transmits data to the cloud platform. PC at the monitor center uses web browser to access the cloud platform website, and check the data from devices. We can also use WeChat applet to check data, alarms,etc.
JL-20T MPRO connects to mServer as well. PC at the monitor center runs Vircom software that also connects to mServer. Send AT command to JL-20T MPRO via Vircom-mServer channel to stop MODBUS data transmission, then create a virtual serial port via Vircom, and map JL-20T MPRO to the virtual serial port at the PC; the programming software can then upload or download program via the virtual serial port. After program upload/download is complete, send AT command to JL-20T MPRO again to recover MODBUS data transmission.
